Envisioning Your Vibrant Outdoor Community Space
Prior Plans and Analysis
Through community input, this district's plans identified an outdoor community green space as a high priority. We seek to transform a quarter-acre temporary parking lot at the corner of East 10th and Elm Streets into a vibrant, year-round community space. Links to the Historic Millwork District plans:

Survey and Community Outreach
A survey was shared with the community to gather your input and hear your voice. From September to October, we collected the results of 418 community members!
The community's vision included a green open space with specialty lighting, seating, and shade structures with options for events and live music. Take a look at the online survey results here:
Public Input Work Session
On November 12th, a public work session was hosted at the Jule Operations & Training Center (JOTC). Community members were given a project brief and the instructions on a design game involving small chip pieces intended to represent different amenities.
Participants placed themselves into six groups and worked together in these teams to create a design based on their own thoughts about the site. Take a look at what they accomplished here:
Open House
After reviewing all of the public input and engagement to this point, three concepts were created to best represent the community's insights and ideas.
These ideas were presented at an open house during the Merry Millwork Market on December 5th for the community to have another comment period.
