Playground
Love the idea of an inclusive playground, Waconia has something similar that is wonderful for kids of all ages. Community garden plots is another great idea.

Baseball fields abound in Chaska Lions park has a laaaarge pickleball area. Think of things we -don't- have. Think of things that will enrich the lives of those who live here and draw new residents to the area (if we need any, that is) 🤪
It has been brought to my attention that the individual or individuals leading this effort are staunch supporters of baseball and have repeatedly turned a blind eye to the needs of other sports in the past. I'm not opposed to baseball, but the numbers don't lie. The baseball facilities already in place arena sign of the disproportionate backing the city provides. I have no idea how to make it happen, but how fantastic would it be if the public's input actually made a difference? Imagine a…
A place like this for skates/roller blades would be amazing all year round!
What about a 'skate ribbon' like they have in Omaha? All the kids are learning how to roller skate in gym at the elementary schools these days but there isn't any place close to go. Omaha has an outdoor skate ribbon that is flooded with ice in the winter and is for roller skates and blades in the non winter months. It was AMAZING! So many people could use this!
Commision local artists to create sculptures that could be placed in the park and along walking trails. Consider artwork that helps celebrate the cultural and historic heritage of our town/ region.
It would be interesting to consider a space for community-based gardens that could be rented by local residents. I think this would help tie back to the farming history and inspire healthy eating. The future school could also have a plot to drive education.
With the preservation of Big Woods and the park, I think it would be great to offer a few Camper Cabins in the woods. This could help foster an appreciation for the outdoors, leverage the history of the Big Woods and be a destination driver. It could also help spur year-around use if they are heated. Check out Dakota County Parks for their Camper Cabins for inspiration. https://www.co.dakota.mn.us/parks/ReservationsPasses/CamperCabins
A park-based restaurant could be both a destination driver and help provide revenue to the Parks and Rec system. Having something like what's in Minneapolis parks (e.g., Sea Salt Eatery, the Painted Turtle, or Mill Valley Market) would help serve both the local residents and help create a draw to the greater Chaska area.
Imagine the beautiful views of the MN River Valley and surrounding area!

Please check out the Villages in Florida for ideas for seniors. For example outdoor exercise equipment along walking paths. They have a number of other things that could benefit everyone. Including places to look at the stars at night. Please check them and look at the clubs there for additional outside clubs that could be implemented.

I have no idea how to make it happen, but how fantastic would it be if the public's input actually made a difference? Imagine a world where the deck wasn't stacked against you, the outcome wasn't already predetermined, and "outreach" by city officials was more than lip service.
